This course allows students to specialise in either:
-Aromatherapy/Reflexology
Learn about Aromatic chemistry with the purpose of blending various oils to use in aromatherapy massage. With a deep understanding of aromatic chemistry and the unique benefits of different oils students are able to vary their treatment according to the clients needs.
Reflexology, the study of the foots trigger points from which all parts of the body are linked to, teaches students how to relieve stress and tension in different parts of the body.
Ayurveda ("The Science of Living") or Indian head oil massage is taught as to further encourage deep relaxation and the release of stress
OR
-Spa Therapy
A fast growing industry and with many hotels, resorts and cruise ships including Spa retreats this specialisation will assist in getting you into this industry. You will learn techniques for Wet room settings, Dry room settings and hydrotherapy. Within these different environments you will also learn Stone Therapy Massage, Body Exfoliation, Wraps and Clays and basic Indian head massage and reflexology.
In this course, you will also learn (on top of your specialisation):
- Learn Skin Biology to understand the effects of different products on sensitive skin
Make-up and camouflage make-up used to cover scars or skin abnormalities
Waxing, Manicure, Pedicure
IPL and Microdermabrasion
Lash and Brow treatments
Salon management
Communication and counselling skills to be able to effectively handle sensitive situations
Put your theoretical knowledge to practice through real work experience in the on-campus clinic and spa where you will work with real clients
