The Bachelor of Health Science (Nutritional Medicine) has its foundations built on the unique properties that each type of food contains. Learn to think of food as medicine that can be used to strengthen a weak body or prevent disease. 

In this course, you will learn:

• How to identify a clients nutritional needs and recommend a nutrition plan to assist in achieve wellbeing

• How to use scientific principles such as biochemisty, anatomy and physiology to understand the relationship between food and medicine

• Communication and counselling skills to be able to effectively handle sensitive situations

• Put your theoretical knowledge to practice through real work experience in the on-campus clinic where you will treat public patients

栄養医学とは、医食同源の伝統と食事療法に、伝統医学の医師とホリスティック療法士がともに取り入れるようになった、栄養生化学と栄養治療学の最近の化学的進歩を組み合わせたものです。栄養医学の施術者は、疾患や病気の期間も含め、生涯を通じて健康状態に影響をもたらす栄養・食事・生活習慣的要因について理解しています。栄養医学の施術者は個人や地域社会に対して、食品の選択が健康維持と病気管理にどのように影響を与えるかについて指導します。

It is possible to study a ONE year Diploma of Health Science (Nutrition) which is the same as the first year of the Bachelor of Health Science (Nutrition). This is a popular choice for those who are not yet ready to commit to 3 years of study. It is important to understand that in Australia, in order to qualify as a Nutritionist, all students must graduate with a Bachelor of Health Science (Nutrition) therefore a one year Diploma is not enough to practice as a Nutritionist.

After completion of the one year Diploma you can decide to continue your studies and enter directly into the 2nd year of the Bachelor of Health Science (Nutrition). It is possible to have a gap year in-between the Diploma and the Bachelor however should the Bachelor course be upgraded during this time it is possible that you may need to study additional subjects before entering directly into the 2nd year. 

Note that there are additional visa associated costs payable to the immigration department if you decide to extend your course.

バチェラー　オブ　ヘルス　サイエンス（栄養士）の初年度と同じでもある、1年間の健康科学栄養学（ディプロマ）を学ぶことも可能です。これは、まだ3年間の勉強を約束する準備ができていない人には人気のある選択です。しかしオーストラリアでは、栄養学者の資格を得るには、バチェラー　オブ　ヘルス　サイエンス（栄養学）で卒業しなければならず、1年間の卒業証書は栄養士としては十分ではありません。

1年間のディプロマを修了し、学業を継続する場合、健康科学学士号（栄養学）の2年次に直接入ることができます。ディプロマの卒業証書と学士の間にギャップ年を設けることは可能ですが、この期間に学士課程がアップグレードされた場合、2年目に直接入る前に追加の科目を勉強する必要が生じる可能性があります。

また、コースを延長することを決めた場合、移民局に支払う追加のビザ関連費用がかかります。
